Capital City Gourd Patch

The purpose of our group is to:
Meet artisans and share gourd art interests;
See and use various tools and review inspiring books;
Teach and learn new skills, techniques, and do projects;
Discuss South Carolina Gourd Society and American Gourd Society news and other recent gourding events.

Capital City Gourd Patch

What a year so far! Our patch is learning knotless netting August 2nd, from 10AM to 2PM. Depending on the time, we may create small drum necklaces, too. KumiHimo braiding, Chinese Wei Folk, and rag top rims have been taught by our patch members. Thanks to our instructors giving of their time and materials for many hours of fun!

One outstanding patch member is Joanne Crouch. She has spent many hours getting this event together. We will need volunteers to demonstrate and sit the booth during the fair . Thanks also to Doc Moe for the encouragement and helping us have gourd art as a competitive category for the Orangeburg County Fair, Orangeburg, SC. This year, the fair runs from September 29 through October 5, 2008. For more information, contact Joanne, (803) 685-5577 or email crouch1@pbtcomm.net .

For those of you who have not been able to attend, please visit the Capital City Gourd Patch site for more information about our patch, meeting times, directions, etc.
